Since 1964, the Hammamet International Cultural Center is endowed with a neo-Greek theater. It is one of the most beautiful open air theaters of the Mediterranean, designed by the great French architect Chemtov.

Maurice Béjart, the Alvin Ailey and Alwin Nicolais dance companies performed some of their best repertories. The best known Arab and European theter companies have produced on its stage the most beautiful classical and modern plays. The arena continues to echo music of the world. It hosts the Hammamet International Festival which has welcomed some of the best known world famed artists in ballets, music and theater.

The Hammamet International Festival is one of the most pretigious cultural events in Tunisia. Masterpiece of the cultural program of the Hammamet International Cultural Center, the Festival has witnessed the parade of a variety of national and foreign orchestras, theater companies, and artistic groups.
